Kalligher Bulldogs News and HighlightsJuly 2008Well, not much has gone on in the last year. I had my hip replaced and the dogs haven't gone to shows because of my bad joint. We, of course, still enjoy each others company and have great times together. As I heal we'll get back into the show circuit. We hope to have a couple litters in the Fall, so keep checking back.August 2007PUPPIES!!!!! Cherokee Legend White Feather, who has 10 points toward her championship was bred to CH. Reingold Aristocrat and just had her first litter. We have 6 pups, 3 boys and 3 girls. Go to the Puppies page and see pictures. July 2007Well, we haven't gone to a show in a long time, but went to the Duluth Kennel Club All Breed Show in Duluth, MN. We had a good weekend with Jack winning Best of Breed on Sunday, and his son, Kalligher's Big Boy Buckley getting Reserve Winners Dog in his first show ever. Exciting stuff! June 2007All the puppies went home and we miss them all. Of course it's wonderful to see how excited their new owners are, and how much they're loved. They all went to wonderful homes. May 2007Well, Jill went into labor a couple of days early and had 5 beautiful puppies. She's the best mom ever and the puppies are doing great. April 2007We're excited to announce that we just acquired one of Jack's puppies from Reingold's English Ivy, a very nice brindle bitch owned by Rita and Reiny Guthmiller of Reingold Bulldogs.
December 2006On Saturday and Sunday, December 9th and 10th, Jack went to the Granite City Kennel Club All Breed Show in St. Cloud, MN. Jack won Best of Breed on Saturday, and Best of Opposite on Sunday. November 2006Jack took Best of Opposite both days at the Minneapolis Kennel Club All Breed Show in Shakopee, MN. The last of our puppies left this month. We were lucky to find wonderful, loving homes for each and every one of them. It was hard to let them go though, and we anxiously await updates and pictures from their new families. We'll be breeding again as soon as Feather or Jill comes into heat. So keep your eyes open, it should be some time in the spring of 2007. October 2006On Sunday, October 29th we traveled to Sioux Falls, SD for the Sioux Empire Kennel Club's All Breed Dog Show. Jack won Best of Opposite over the 3rd and 8th ranked dogs in the country. It was a nice win in a large field of very nice dog. September 2006Well, the big news in September is, "PUPPIES". Jill had Jack's puppies on September 1st. It was a healthy litter of 7, 2 boys and 5 girls. All survived and are healthy. They're keeping us busy, so no shows this month. Jack's getting impatient too. Feather is pointed out with 10 points and just needs her two majors to finish. Jill is the best mom ever and her pups are doing great. See, the Puppies tab for pics. August 2006On August 12th & 13th, we went to Albert Lea, MN for the Freeborn County Kennel Club's All-Breed Show. Jack won Best of Breed on Saturday. Feather won Winners Bitch and Best of Winners on Saturday, and got Winners Bitch and Best of Opposite on Sunday. Well Jack & Wrinkles were chosen to pose for some pictures for a local businessman. He wanted to use them as an example of tenacity and determination. It was quite an experience for all of us and the pictures turned out great. Here's a couple from that LONG day.
July 2006It was hot in Vermillion, SD on July 2nd, and so was Jack. He went Best of Breed and received a Group 4th at the Sioux Empire Kennel Club All-Breed Show. Jack continued on in Omaha, NE at the Nebraska Kennel Club's All-Breed Show. He took Best of Breed and received a Group 3rd on Sunday, July 23rd. Feather received Reserve Winners Bitch both days. June 2006Jack took Best of Breed on Sunday, June 11th in the Lake Minnetonka Kennel Club All-Breed Show in Waconia, MN. May 2006On May 27th and 28th we all withstood 90+ degree temperatures and went to St. Peter, Minnesota. Jack took Best of Breed both days. Feather went Best of Winners and Best of Opposite both days. She's got 7 points now. April 2006Ch. Cherokee Happy Jack traveled to the Clinton Iowa Kennel Club's All Breed show and took Best of Breed on Sunday, April 2nd. In addition, Cherokee Legend White Feather continued her winning ways taking Winners Bitch, and Best of Opposite both days. Iowa was good to us again when we traveled to Waterloo on April 22-23. Ch. Cherokee Happy Jack took Best of Breed both days and Cherokee Legend White Feather took Reserve Winners Bitch on Saturday and then turned around and won Winners Bitch, Best of Winners and Best of Opposite on Sunday. She has 5 points so far. March 2006Ch. Cherokee Happy Jack had a good weekend winning Best of Breed both days at the Wisconsin Kennel Club All-breed Show. Cherokee Legend White Feather also had a good weekend going Winners Bitch both days, and capturing Best of Winners and Best of Opposite over a special on Sunday. January 2006Ch. Cherokee Happy Jack started out 2006 with a bang. Jack won Best of Breed both Saturday and Sunday, January 7th and 8th, at the Land O'Lakes KC All Breed Show in St. Paul, MN. Ch. Cherokee Happy Jack traveled to Des Moines and the Central Iowa KC All Breed Show and took Best of Breed on Saturday, January 21st. December 2005Ch. Cherokee Happy Jack won Best of Opposite and Best of Breed at the Granite City KC All Breed Show in St. Cloud, MN on December 10th and 11th. November 2005Ch. Cherokee Happy Jack won Best of Breed and Best of Opposite at the Minneapolis KC All Breed Show in Shakopee, MN on November 19th and 20th. |
