Kallibulls Bulldogs

Hi, our names are Michelle and John Kalligher. We live with our bulldogs alongside the Minnesota River Valley. We got our first bulldog, Wrinkles, in 1996. There was no question that Wrinkles stole our hearts.

In 2004 John convinced Michelle that showing and breeding Bulldogs would be a great activity. After all, we loved the breed and so did our kids and grandkids. So, John traveled to Long Island, New York and acquired Ch. Cherokee Happy Jack from well known breeder, Cody Sickle of Cherokee Bulldogs. In addition, we picked up our first girl, Ethelred's Jolly Jill from breeder and friend, Ellen Rich.

Jack was out of Ch. Legacy Only Calvin Klein. "Calvin" is the second most show wins of all Bulldogs, in U.S. history. Jill is out of Ethelred and DiToros lines and also has an excellent pedigree. After getting Jack and Jill home, John started to work on showing Jack. We started showing him at about 9 months. At first we used a handler. After we got familiar with how to show, John traveled and handled Jack himself. Jack finished his championship at 18 months.

Since Wrinkles, we've owned 7 bulldogs. We can attest to the fact that Bulldogs are an absolutely wonderful breed. They're good with family and children. They're cute, loyal, and never mean to houseguests, although some guests are intimidated by the size of their head and jaw. However, looks can be deceiving, that ferocious look hides the fact that Bulldogs are just big teddy bears. They love to play and cuddle. Their biggest joy seems to be laying on the couch with their family, which we enjoy equally. Oh, and don't forget their face. That permanent smile exudes a certain joy that all Bulldog owners feel.

We'd love to have you come and see our Bulldogs. John loves nothing better than talking about them. If you're just starting to think about Bulldogs, call us and we can fill you in on the breed. Bulldogs aren't for everyone, but every one of our owners are fully taken with the breed.
